Ruby Ola Pilgrim Kays passed away on June 15, 2012.Ruby was born on august 15, 1922, to the late John Wesley Pilgrim and Dollie Margaret Cash Pilgrim in Bardwell, Texas.Her deceased siblings are Ethel Todd, Ina Mae Jones, Lorena Blackburn, Charlie Pilgrim, John Pilgrim, and Ambrous Pilgrim.

Surviviors include a daughter, Linda Jo Kays of Wichita Falls; sister, Pauline Cook of Pilot Point; two nephews, J.W. Todd of Pilot Point and Chris Cook of Austin; two nieces, Paila Cook of Denton and Ruby Mae Culverhouse of Farmersville.

Ruby was a member of the Pilot Point Church of Christ.She was especially proud of her nursing career.Ruby graduated from the Texas Woman’s University, Kress Foundation, School of Nursing in the mid-1950’s.Ruby was employed at Flow Memorial Hospital until the Sundial Nursing Home opened in the mid-1960’s.It is now known as, Pilot Point Care Center.Ruby continued to work there until her death.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Slay Memorial Chapel.Viewing will be prior to the service.Rev. Craig Tullos, minister of the Church of Christ will officiate.

Pallbearers are Wes Shivers, Kayden Shivers, Randall Morris, Paul Morris, Charles Bolin, Mike Oveross, and Dean Jameson.

Services are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
