Eriq Oliver Neale meant so many things to so many different people. He was the husband of Anna Beth Hillyard Neale, who he loved more than anything in the world. He was the son of Sharon and Ken Romines, who loved him not only for his many accomplishments but for the man he was. He was the big brother to Jason Nicholas Joseph, whom he greatly admired and respected. He enjoyed spending time with all of his family and Anna’s, from siblings to nieces and nephews to aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.

The respect for him in his chosen profession is evidenced by the many awards he received, though these awards and recognitions do not indicate the true respect and love he had by his colleagues all over the world. Beyond his family and colleagues, his great passions in life were music and baseball. He enjoyed hosting baseball players for a summer league and being a booster for the student athletes at TWU.

Eriq was born on January 4, 1968 in Lubbock, TX.He graduated from Lubbock High School in l986 and moved to Denton, TX to attend the University of North Texas, from which he graduated with a degree in computer science. He was the founder of EON Consulting in Denton and the co-founder of Third Tier in Detroit, MI. He was a prolific author and enjoyed teaching, both at the college level and at professional conferences.

Eriq passed away on June 14, 2012, in Denton, TX at 8:30 P.M. with Anna and Jason by his side.A memorial service will be held at the University Ministry Center at the University of North Texas in Denton on Saturday, June 23rd at 2:00 PM.This is where Eriq and Anna were married almost 18 years ago on August 14, 1994.

The courage he possessed as he fought the extremely rare liver cancer was evidenced in his blogs on “Caring Bridge.”A wonderful husband, son, brother, and business colleague, will be greatly missed.
