Herman Allen Saffell, 91, of Denton passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his residence. He was born April 21, 1921 in Gatesville, TX to Porter J. and Temmer Marlin Saffell. He married Billie Jackson on February 29, 1940 in Midland. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for Exxon in Odessa for more than 20 years.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 24, 2012 at DeBerry Funeral Directors from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday, June 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Graveside service will be Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Saffell of Denton; daughter, Judy Saffell Cherry and husband Jim of Denton; son, Larry Saffell of Rowlett; grandchildren, Kirk Cherry and wife Allison of Corinth, Steve Cherry and wife Kelley of Red River NM, David Cherry and wife Brandy of Denton, and Judith Robinson of Benbrook; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Ronald Cory Saffell.
