Rayburn Lee Markham, 93, of Denton, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Cottonwood Nursing Center.He was born June 22, 1918 in Alba, TX to Robert Roy and Lunnie Ethel (Terry) Markham. He was married to Lela Mae Wood on June 20, 2001 in Mesquite, TX. Rayburn and Lela had been high school sweethearts and by fate, rekindled their friendship which lovingly evolved into a loving marriage over sixty years later. He was employed as a Tool and Die Maker in the Aircraft Industry. He was a member of the Gateway United Baptist Church. He was a Graduate of Alba High School.

Mr. Markham is survived by his wife, Lela Mae Markham of Denton; stepdaughters; Paula Baker of Denton and Wanda Walker of Krugerville; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren and one step great-great-grandchild, and other extended family members.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.
