Elizabeth “Liz” Isabel (Vasconcellos) Hunter, 68, of Assonet and formerly of Somerset, MA & Sanger, TX, passed away July 6, 2012 at home. She was the widow of Jimmie Ray Hunter and the daughter of the late John Amaral Vasconcellos & Gloria (Rapoza) Vasconcellos. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Hunter worked for Seabra supermarket as a meat wrapper. She previously worked for the Denton County Jail in Denton, TX. After retiring, she worked part time at the Freetown Elementary School. Elizabeth was a parishioner of St. John of God Church, a member of the Senior Fellowship of Fall River, The Classy Ladies, and a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge. She enjoyed Reading, Knitting, Gambling, & spending time with her family.
Elizabeth was the mother of Pamela Janice Hunter and ex-husband Timothy A. Hall of Era, TX, Jimmie Ray Hunter IIand late wife Carol Ann of Assonet, MA, the late Michael Jimmie Hunter and wife Melinda K. Hunter of Sanger, TX; siblings: Lea Viveiros of Dighton, MA, Judy Brantner of Somerset, MA, John Amaral Vasconcellos and wife Mary of Tiverton, RI & Ft. Myers Beach, FL; grandchildren: Michael Jimmie Hunter II and wife Megan Maldonado-Hunter, Kenneth William Hall, Jimmie Ray Hunter III, Matthew Christopher Hall, Misty Ann Hunter, Morgan Keith Hunter, Sara Elizabeth Kay Hunter; and the aunt to several nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place at Denton Funeral Home, 120 S Carroll Blvd in Denton, Texas on Thursday at 10:00 A.M in the chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 9 A.M. Interment will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton, TX. Kindly Omit Flowers, plants will be welcome & accepted. Local arrangements are under the direction of Denton Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
