Erceal V. Doty Jr. went to be with the Lord July 9, 2012, after a brave and courageous 11- year battle with Congestive Heart Failure. Erceal was born July 28, 1947 to Lt. Col. Erceal V. Doty, Sr. and Elaine Brockles Doty in Dallas, Texas. Erceal graduated from UT-Arlington and went to work at General Telecommunications and Electronics (GTE) in 1970 .He worked there for 29 years, retiring in 1999. He worked at XO Communications until he became disabled in 2001.Erceal was a member of First United Methodist Church in Grapevine.

 Erceal married Julie Ann Rainey on March 15, 1985, in Hurst, Texas. Their travels took them toGreece, England, Africa, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and many trips to Hawaii and Spain. Erceal was a passionate and recognized fisherman.He fished all over the U.S., Canada, Cuba, and Costa Rica.He also enjoyed playing Bridge with his great aunts.His heart had no limits, and he relished in helping others.He will be missed by many.

Erceal was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Tillman. He is survived by wife Julie of Denton, daughter Vanessa Russ and husband Rodney of Denton, daughter Courtney Bohrer of Frisco, brother George and Debbie Doty of Richmond, Texas, grandchildren Jack, Andrew, Charlie and Ellie, sister-in law Tina Doty, godson Jody Harrison, goddaughter Stacy Carter, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and his precious dogs, Abbie and Blue Doty .

 A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, July 13, at 1:00 pm in the Founder’s Chapel, First United Methodist Church, 422 Church St., Grapevine, Texas, Rev. Rick Mang officiating. A reception will follow in Leach Hall.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or charity of your choice.
