Evelyn Pruitt born February 17, 1923 passed away peacefully July 7, 2012 at the Atrium in Corinth, TX.
Once known as the “Chicken Fried Steak Queen” of North Texas, known for her homemade foods and cream pies, she served meals on wheels for several years from her café.She sponsored many school events and charities and was known for her kindness and generosity.
Her body was donated to Science Care in Phoenix Arizona, her way of still helping others.
She was preceded in death by husband Jess W. Pruitt, son Ray Pruitt and great great grandson Anthony Steel. She is survived by son Jerry Pruitt of Fort Worth, daughter Penny Eudy of Fort Worth, daughter Patty & her husband Craig Cudd of Denton, grandson Lonnie Pruitt of Argyle, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Cross Timbers Community Church, Argyle on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11:00 am, officiated by Toby Slough.
