Gary Lyn Harmon, 59, of Denton, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at his home.Mr. Harmon was born on December 12, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio to Harold and Lola Mae (Clark) Harmon. After graduating high school, he attended The Ohio State University. He married Joy Wright on January 7, 2005 in Portsmouth, OH. Gary and Joy both attended Denton Bible Church. Gary worked as a professional Jazz Drummer and had worked for Federal Express for sixteen years.

Gary is survived by his wife, Joy Wright-Harmon of Denton; brother, Ron Harmon and his wife, Kathy Nelson of Columbus, OH; daughter, Mary (Harmon) Kettering and her husband, Brian of Ashland, OH; sons, Jonathan Harmon of Denton, TX, David Harmon and his wife, Kristin of Newark, OH; granddaughters, Cecilia Mae Kettering of Ashland, OH, Lily White Harmon of Newark, OH; and two canine sons, Dexter and Coltrane (Jack Russell Terriers).

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in the chapel of the Denton Bible Church, 2300 E. University Dr., Denton, TX. Rev. Tom Nelson will officiate the service. On-line condolences may be left at www.mulkeymasondenton.com

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Russell Rescue, Inc. at www.russellrescue.com or to the Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org.

Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
