Gerald Rae Bilger,71, of Shady Shores, has gotten his wings back and is now free flying the skies of the great blue yonder! He left this world on July 20th surrounded by his best friends, Kyle and Mariana Riley and his fiance, Toni O’Malley. He was born September 5, 1940 in Dallas, TX to George Carl and Lorene Marie (Duncan) Bilger. He was Co-Owner of Anchor Bay Boat and RV Storage, Corinth, TX. He was a Graduate of the University of North Texas. He served in the U S Marine Corps. He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in November, 2011. His favorite verse in the Bible was: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13”.
He is survived by his fiancé, Toni O’Malley of Denton, his son, Charles Matthew Bilger of Denton, a cousin, Jo Alice Patton of Dallas, and two Grandchildren, Darrian and Eric Bilger. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Bilger.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, July 30, 2012 in the Chapel of Denton Bible Church, with Rev. Mike Spencer, officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday before the services from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name to the The American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
