Walter Alan Sooter, 32, of Denton, TX. died on Saturday July 28, 2012 in Houston, TX.He was born on February 16, 1980 in St. Johns Newfoundland, Canada to Gary and Laura (Huff) Sooter. Married the former Melissa Anne Hicks.
Walter graduated top of his class from the Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Virginia Beach, VA in 2006. He held his private pilot’s license with A&P certificate and Inspection Authorization. Previously, he held positions working with rockets at SpaceX, as well as working with the L-39 Albatros at North American Pride Aviation. Despite his many accomplishments, he always remembered and was proud of his roots as a Manager at Kerasotes Theaters in Machesney Park.
Walter was an avid motorbike rider, and spent much of his leisure time repairing motorcycles, airplanes, and Pontiac Firebirds. He also enjoyed reading books, often with a cup of coffee in hand. He cherished the moments he had with family and friends, shooting the breeze, telling jokes, sharing stories, and listening to music.
He loved his wife with all of his heart. Having met at the movie theater, Melissa and Walter spent literally half of their lives together; their love for each other was constant and deeper than anyone can imagine. They respected and idolized each other. They made each other better, and their strong bond will remain unbroken.
Walter is survived by his wife Melissa (Hicks) Sooter; Father Gary (Jean) Sooter; Mother Laura (Don) Berry; Brothers Robert Sooter and Gary Matthew (Alexa) Sooter; Sisters Mary (Heath) Kerchner and Sandra (Cameron) Bohn. Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Robert and Jane Hicks and Brother-in-law, Jonathan Hicks. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, for whom he loved very much.
The memories and stories shared by his many friends and loved ones will ensure his spirit will live on.
