Etta M. Wallace Steward (Mema) was born July 23, 1922, near Sand Springs, OK and died Saturday, August 4, 2012, in Pasadena, TX.She was preceded in death by her parents, Goldie Belle Hamilton and Guilford Marrs; three sisters, MayBell Pridgen, Katie Haney, and Iva Ahart; and daughter, Nancy Ann Cox.She is survived by her children, Lewis Eden and wife, JoAn of Corinth, TX; Tonya Morgan of Houston, TX; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In December 1939, Etta married Lewis Odell Eden.That union produced Etta’s three children.She married Hurshel Wallace in 1955 and that marrigage lasted until his death in January 1976.Etta married James (Jim) Steward in 1978, who died January, 2012. Etta was a member of South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena for over 50 years.She recently spent three years in Corinth and was a member of First Baptist Church, Denton, TX.She was very active in the Pasadena area delivering Meals on Wheels, served as Queen Mother of the Red Hat Society, held the role of President of the Pasadena Reading Club, and was always active in her church.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 PM, August 10, 2012, at Forest Park East, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX.Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Forest Park East, followed by a graveside ceremony.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Main Baptist Church, 4300 E.
