William Elton “Bill” Berry, born on April 5, 1947 in Decatur, Texas, passed away on August 14, 2012.  He grew up in Denton, Texas, and attended Denton High School, graduating from North Texas State University with a degree in Business. He married Joan Ramey  in 1970 and they had two sons.  His lifetime career was in restaurant management. At the time of his death, he and Joan were living in Thornton, Texas.

From 1970 to 1995 Bill worked in a number of Austin restaurants including Holiday House, 2-Js, Hill Country, Short Stops and Whataburger.  He moved to Waco in 1995 and worked for Whataburger until he retired in 2001.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Margie Reynolds Berry and Willis Elton Berry, and by one son William Elton “JR” Berry, Jr. He is survived by his wife Joan, his son Guy Berry and wife Jenn of Phoenix and two sisters, Anita Berry of Durango, Colorado, and Virginia Condit and husband Robert Condit of Murphy, Texas.  He was a much loved uncle, cousin, nephew and friend.

A memorial service will be held on August 24, 2012, at 3 P.M. at the Leander United Methodist Church in Leander, Texas (107 S. West Dr.). In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation (www.oif.org).
