James “Jimmy” Cody Mitchell

James “Jimmy” Cody Mitchell, 68, passed away on August 17, 2012 in Denton, Texas. He was born on November 02, 1943 in Dallas, Texas to James Cornelius Mitchell and Nina Margaret (Cody) Mitchell Dumond. Jimmy had been a resident of the Denton State Supported Living Center for the past 17 years and was a prior resident of the Fort Worth State School from 1977-1995. Jimmy enjoyed working in the greenhouse at the school and participating in Special Olympics. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed collecting anything that had to do with yellow school buses and trains. 

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Elmer Dumond. He is survived by his mother, Nina Dumond of Arlington, Texas, two sisters, Sandra Parker of Denton, Texas and Carol Fredde of San Antonio, Texas and five nieces.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm at The Ivey Chapel For All Faiths at Denton State Supported Living Center. Funeral services will follow at 1:30pm at The Ivey Chapel For All Faiths.Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, TX.
