Louis Edward Kraft died at home in Denton on September 2, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 1, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to George and Hazel Kraft. He grew up in Glenwood, Illinois, graduated from Illiana Christian High School in Lansing, Illinois and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He served in a rural church-planting ministry for 25 years.
He married Louise Plum in 1955 and they were blessed with 5 children. Upon moving to Denton in 1985, he started Kraft Construction Company with his sons and worked until retirement. He was a builder, a life-long Bible student, an avid gardener, appreciated music, and loved a challenge. He enjoyed his association with several Illinois churches, especially Faith Bible Church in Olney, Illinois.
After moving to Denton, he was involved in the music ministry at Oak Grove United Methodist Church and in recent years was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Denton. He was most proud of his children, Tim and Barbara, Robert, Mary and Chris, John and Pam, Curtis and Ann. His cherished grandchildren are Kelly, Kyle, Anna, Danny, Carly and Emily. Step-grandchildren are Amy, Virgil, Anita and Jennifer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. One brother, Stanley, Chicago, Illinois survives. A memorial service of Scripture and Music will be 11 am, Saturday, September 8 at 1st Presbyterian Church in Denton, Pastor Paul Dunklau officiating.
