Mr. Jasper “PETE” Kuykendall passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Denton Regional Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 10, 2012, 1PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist church in Denton, TX. An Interment is scheduled for Thursday, October 11, 2012, 10:30AM at Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, TX.
Jasper served his country well in WWII fighting in two combat battles and earning a Bronze Star for heroic actions and the Asiatic Pacific Victory Medal for his service in the liberation of the Philippines.
Jasper was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jaunita Kuykendall; one sister, Nona Kuykendall, and two brothers, Jake and CQ.
Jasper leaves to cherish his precious memories, eight children: Jean Roberson, stepdaughter (Michael), Mary Fleming (Ray) and Marcella Franklin of Denton, TX, Lucy Kuykendall of Keller, TX, Jasper Kuykendall, Jr. (Jyla) of Plano, TX, Jenell Watson of Mesa, AZ, Marilyn Kuykendall of Lewisville, TX and Sharon Davis (Bobby) of Corinth, TX.He leaves nineteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren; and host of relatives and friends.
