John William Mills, Jr., 92, of Denton, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village.
Mr. Mills was born on March 4, 1920 to John William and Dollie (Brown) Mills. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was married to Josie Lean Carter on August 26, 1946 in Greenville, TX. He retired after many years of driving and owning his own trucking company.
He is survived by his wife, Josie Mills of Denton; daughters, Margaret Dressel of Lake Kiowa, Mozella Dundas of Hilo, HI; sons, Donald William Mills of Double Oak, John William Mills, III of Flower Mound, Clay Mitchell Mills of Houston; sister, Gracie Coulter of Denton; brothers, Calvin Mills of Denton, Robert Mills of Denton; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Mills, a son, Paul Wayne Mills and a grandson, Alexander John Mills.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, October 15, 2012 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton, TX. The service will be officiated by Chaplain Lynda Schupp. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Cemetery, Denton.
