Marilyn Merritt Wilson (79) was born September 18, 1933 in Memphis, Texas to Clifford S. Merritt and Mamie Bowdion Merritt.
She died on October 15, 2012 after a brief illness. She was the first born to Clifford and Mamie and remained in that order her entire life through her many careers. She leaves behind her spouse of 56 years Hoyt L. Wilson, a sister Martha Gibson of Brownwood, Texas.
She also leaves multiple nieces and nephews in Texas and Colorado. As well as many neighbors, and friends , in Memphis, Alabama and of course Texas.
Marilyn’s careers spans more that 50 years. She was a school teacher , real estate agent, and co-owner of a printing business with her husband Hoyt. Marilyn was always a leader and was happy to give you her thoughts even if you did not ask.
She will be laid to rest in Cedars Memorial Gardens, Mineola, Texas. The family requests in lieu of flowers please donate to Memphis Union Missions, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
