Gerald Van Chavers, age 51, of Crossroads, Texas died Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at his home. Gerald was born April 18, 1961 in Pensacola, Florida.
A military service will be Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 11:15 am. A visitation will be held at the Slay Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 4:00-5:00pm.
Survivors include his two sons, Seaborn Van Chavers and Garrett Lawson Chavers, both of Frisco, Texas; father, Seaborn W. Chavers Sr. and wife Gail of McDavid Florida; mother, Edytha and husband Edward Richard of Vidor, Texas; brother, Seaborn W. Chavers, Jr. and wife Debbie of New Tazewell, Tennessee; sisters, Forest Barber and husband Wayne of Port Neches, Texas and Belinda and husband Morris Norman, Jr. of Bridge City, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bears Friends Fund P.O. Box 21 Port Neches, TX 77651.
Services are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey, Texas.
