Barbara June Ashworth, age 85 of Denton, TX died on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in her home. She was born June 5, 1927 to Fannie (Waterbury, Ashworth) Schmidt and Charles Ashworth in Santa Barbara, California. She spent the last 33 years of her life in Denton, TX. She accomplished her Master’s Degree and Doctoral course work at UNT in Journalism. She was a member of the choir and a member of the Board of Trustees at the First Baptist Church of Denton, an independent consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics, as well as a “Syncopated Ladies” tap dancer. She enjoyed cards and games multiple times each week with friends and family. Her presence at the table will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Stone and husband, Gerald (Jerry) of Westminster, MD, Carol Schauer of Centennial, CO, and Paula Amschler and husband, Mitch of Rio Rancho, NM; son, Craig Milacek and wife, Connie of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren, Stacy Milacek and husband, Wes Martin, Craig R. Milacek, Mathew Stone and wife, Shelley, Jill Gilbert and husband, Tristan, Andrew Stone, and Elise Wendorf and husband, Justin; and seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
The family would like to honor her with a memorial service in the main sanctuary at the First Baptist Church of Denton on November 18, 2012 at 2pm.
