Cristina (Nina) Maria Allen, age 27, resident of Providence Village, Texas went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2012. She was born in San Antonio, Venezuela on December 31, 1984, the seventh of nine children. She often said that she was especially blessed being number seven.

She was survived by her son, Christian M Allen, her parents, Nilda B Rivera and Brigham Allen, and her siblings: Lou Allen, Arthur Allen, Charles L Allen, david allen, Jonatan Allen, Roxie Allen, Phillip A Allen, and Stephen M Allen.

Nina will always be remembered as an excellent mother. She knew how to make life fun and was completely committed to her son’s care. She was also a caring sister, a wonderful daughter, a faithful friend, and a passionate musician. She wrote the lyrics to many songs, sang like an angel, and surrounded herself with children—anyone’s child—she loved them all.

As a dedicated advocate for disaster victims, she was an excellent co-worker as well. At age 18, she joined the FEMA family. And in 9 short years, Cristina rose from a registration intake agent all the way to becoming a valued member of the Recoup and Appeals Department (RAD) within FEMA’s NPSC Enterprise. She excelled despite her youth. When asked for favors, it wasn’t long before she would respond with one word: Done!

Visitation will be on Friday, November 16, 2012 any time after 9 am at the Slay Memorial Funeral Center. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Slay Memorial Funeral Center, 400 South Highway 377, Aubrey, Texas 76227 (940 365 7529).

Her burial will be on Monday November 19, 2012 at 3 pm at the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery, 3801 Roselawn Dr., Denton, Tx. 76207. (GPS comes up better at 3700)

Services are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center, Aubrey.
