Sarah Frances Hutchens passed away at St. Luke’s Medical Center in The Woodlands, Texas Friday, November 16, 2012.

Sarah was born in Denton, Texas where she met and married the love of her life Vernon Ray Hutchens who preceded her in death in 2006. She worked in banking in the Dallas area at Exchange Bank, Northpark National Bank and Texas National Bank prior to that she worked for Allstate Insurance for many years. She and Vernon retired to their beloved Cedar Creek Lake for many years until she moved to The Woodlands to be closer to her son and family.

She loved living at Cedar Creek Lake. Sarah was involved with the Cedar Creek Garden Club, Cedar Creek Lake Women’s Club, and literary clubs and volunteered at the Seven Points Library. She met many new friends who she cherished and enjoyed having in her daily life.

Sarah is survived by her son Kenneth and wife Jane of the Woodlands, sister-in-law Suzie Thomas White of Houston, grandchildren Peyton and Shelby of The Woodlands, Texas. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and her only beloved brother Ray Frank White.

Visitation for Ms. Hutchens will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 6-7 PM at the Huckabee-Tomlinson Funeral Home, 100 Tomlinson Lane, Seven Points, TX.Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the IOOF Cemetery in Denton, TX.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Cedar Creek Garden Club, (16024 CR 4060 Scurry, TX75158-4608), Athens Humane Society (900 W College, Athens TX 75751).
