Leslie Lyn Beck Denton, 51, of Nashville, Tenn., died in Justin Wednesday following a five-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease.)
She was a 1979 graduate of Northwest High School and played basketball for the University of North Texas before receiving her nursing degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton. She had worked as a Registered Nurse at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville for 12 years. She attended St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Nashville.
She is survived by her son, Christian Luke Denton of Nashville, her parents, Jon and Mary Beck of Justin, her brothers Robert Samuel Beck and his wife Becky and their daughters Emily and Allison of Krum , and Jon Bradley Beck of Justin.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Justin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Buster Noah and the Rev. Mel West officiating. A later memorial service will be held in Nashville.
Lucas Funeral Home in Justin is handling arrangements.
