WHITESBORO – Funeral Services for Jerry Edward “J. R.” Allen, 75, will be held Wednesday, November
28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Jerry Davis
officiating. Interment will follow the service at Macomb Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas. A visitation
service will be held Tuesday, November 27, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 in Denison, Texas.
Jerry was born on October 24, 1937 to Homer S. and Lois (Huff) Allen in Whitesboro, Texas. He served
his country in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1960. He worked for Braniff Airlines, General Dynamics, and
later retired from Tanglewood Resorts as a salesman. He was an independent man who liked to do
things his own way. He was a Believer who loved his family. He made time to speak with his brother,
Kenneth, every single day. He would help anyone in need of assistance.
He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Allen and his wife, Barbara, of Denton, TX; nephew, Zachary Allen and wife, Cassie, and their daughter, Kylie, of Denton, TX; nephew, Toby Allen of Denton, TX; niece, Lacey Allen of Little Elm, TX; uncle, Dr. Gene Huff and wife, Gwen, of Whitesboro, TX; good friend, DavidErwin of Whitesboro, TX; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Azzaline Allen; and his parents, Homer S. and Lois (Huff) Allen.
