Gary Lee Sapp, Born January 25, 1943 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 after a hard fought battle with Lymphoma.
He was a loving and devoted husband of 48 years to his bride Kathryn Sapp, with which he had three sons, Jeffrey, Richard, and Daniel. A gracious, loving, and supportive father to three sons and nine grandchildren, who knew him as “Papa”. A devoted friend to many, born witness by the support given during his illness by those friends both near and far.
He worked for many years at S.C Johnson and Company in Racine, Wisconsin before relocating to Texas in 1979. He worked for several grocery stores as a butcher and market manager and was happily retired from the Target Corporation, enjoying his life playing golf and watching his grandkids grow. He will be remembered by all for his fun, outgoing personality. No one can recall ever hearing a negative thing said about him.
He is fondly remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and if the definition of “Grandfather” were a name, it would be Gary Sapp. We all learned so much from him and while we may not understand God’s grand plan so soon after his death, we all are able to look back on his life with affection and smile at the good things he brought into the lives of all he knew.
The family would like to thank his doctors and nurses who worked valiantly to get him well. The staff at Denton Presbyterian Hospital, specifically the nurses and doctors who attended him in Intensive Care, were especially caring and thoughtful. You helped make this time a little easier and we as his family are grateful. We are also grateful to all those in the Robson Ranch Community who supported he and mom during his illness with emotional support as well as by donating blood. It was noted that much of the blood dad received was coming directly from donations made by the people from Robson. Your donations were literally live saving.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Robert Sapp, Mother, Marjorie Sapp, and brother Terry. He is survived by his wife Kathryn Sapp; sons Jeffrey, Richard and wife Aimee, and Daniel and wife Jamie; his brothers Dennis and wife Pat, and David; his Grandson’s Blake and Joshua, his Granddaughters Riley, Brooke, Reagan, Samantha, and Gabrielle, as well as step grandchildren Amelie and Austin.
A good man is gone, but we rest in the comfort the Lord brings, knowing that he is with his mom, dad, and brother, and that we will be reunited.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 1:30 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The burial will follow at 3:00 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery in Colleyville, Texas.
