Gertrude Helen Gibson, 94 of Denton, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Senior Care of Denton. She was born October 3, 1918 in Uvalde, TX to Edward and Jimmie Shaeffer. She married Donald Edwin Gibson on Jan. 3, 1937 and he passed away on July 27, 1996. She worked for J. C. Penny Company as a Sales Manager for many years and was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by daughters Eunice Ferrell and husband George of Double Oak and Carol Ann Cordero and husband Joe of Corinth; sons Norman Edwin Gibson of Ft. Worth and James Earl Gibson of Gainesville; sisters Maggie Mozzagembae of Witter, AR and Evelyn Broome of Southern, CA; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home Chapel on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 2 P.M. with Pastor Sam Pollinzi officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
