Rozanne Sleigh was born in Dallas on September 22, 1947. She passed on December 31, 2012 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with a long illness.
Roz graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1965. She moved to Hickory Creek in 1977. During her time in the Lake Cities area she served on the volunteer fire department. Roz worked for Denton County Sheriff's Office as a 911 dispatcher for two years. She then joined the Lake Dallas Police Department for a 20 year career where she served as a dispatcher, secretary to the Police Chief, police officer, and records manager.
Roz is survived by her husband of 24 years Ben Sleigh of Hickory Creek; Mother Rosamond Ford of Corinth; Daughters Holly Cheshier of Kansas City, Mo, and Amber Knupp and family of Farmers Branch; Robin Conway and family of Edmond, OK; Sons Colonel Bryan Sleigh and family of Fort Bragg, NC, Brad Sleigh and family of Lake Dallas and Chris Sleigh and Family of Denton; 29 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren and countless friends and community members. Her loving soul will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday January 10th at 2 pm at the Lake Cities United Methodist Church at 300 E. Hundley Dr. Lake Dallas, TX 75065
