ARLINGTON — Wanda Joy Davis, 80, of Arlington, died January 3, 2013. She was born November 6, 1932 in Denton County, the daughter of late Henry K. and Effie L. Shackelford. 

 The family will be at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis, Arlington, TX 76012, on Wednesday, January 9th from 6:00-8:00pm for visitation. A service will be held Thursday, January 10th at 12:30pm at Moore Funeral Home. Graveside will be at 1:30pm. Mark Carr from Arlington Community Church will be officiating. Reception to follow gravesite service at her home.

 In 1954, she married James Burke Davis who preceded her in death in 1991. She was also preceded in death by two sons, James Frances Davis in 1955 and James Burke Davis in 1976.

 She was a successful business owner for 30 years of Davis Day Care Centers, Inc. of Arlington, TX. She was a Christian woman who supported many charities. She traveled with her husband and family all over the world making friends everywhere. She was a big supporter of the arts and theater. She was a strong and fearless woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

 She is survived by her two daughters, Lavina Gay Davis and Diana Marie Davis of Arlington, TX. Neice, Gail Bradshaw and two nephews, Danny and Mickey Shackelford. Grandchildren: John Speece, Katrina Watkins, Gizelle Butler, Ariana Ward and Sean Davis. Great-grandchildren: Keila Speece, Allistair Watkins, Skyler Speece, Kiona Speece, Cheyenne Davis, Cayge Speece, Rhett Butler and Lucian Butler. She also had three great-great grandchildren.
