Jay Edison Walker, Sr., 74, of Argyle, TX died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his home in Argyle. Mr. Walker was born on November 13, 1938 in Windber, PA to Edison and Margaret (Hay) Walker. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in Tampa, FL in 1956 and married his first wife June Ann Plunkett in Tampa, FL in March of 1962. He and June had two children, Jay, II and Nola, and divorced after eighteen years of marriage. He then married Elisabeth Pyron in Lihue, HI in October 1993. Jay was a Methodist, an avid snow skier, and a member of the Maverick Region of Porsche Club of America and the Fireballers Car Club. He was retired from Delta Airlines after thirty-four years of service as District Marketing Manager. During his employment he was responsible for accompanying the Texas Rangers to away games, which he did for thirteen years and enjoyed immensely. In his retirement he traveled the world extensively and was comfortable wherever his travels led him. He was known for his keen sense of humor.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Walker of Skanör, Sweden; daughter, Nola R. Kemp of Denton; son, Jay E. Walker, II of Argyle; two grandchildren, Neiman Walker and Julian Kemp and an Aunt, Romaine Robinson of Lavale, MD. He also was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Francis Walker and a stepfather, Leon Perez.
A memorial service will be held from 6 p.m.– 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home at 705 N. Locust, Denton, TX 76201.
