Donald Lee Tate, 66, of Denton, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013. He was born on February 11, 1946 in Monticello, Arkansas to Emory Cleve Tate and Mary Phenlon Herring Tate. He married Anne Scott and was a member of the Glory of Zion, Int’l. Church. 

Don served as a Louisiana State Trooper from 1974 to 1991 and retired as Deputy Commander.He served as Chief of Police Jacksonville, Arkansas from 1991-1994 and Chief of Police of El Dorado, Arkansas from 1994-2000.At the time of his death, Don was Admin Service Manager at DynCorp International.

Throughout Don’s nine year tenure with DynCorp International he served in Kosovo, Jordan, and Iraq.His last assignment was serving as an Employee Assistance Ambassador to those CIVPOL families that have lost loved ones in support of the DI missions throughout the world.Don’s unwavering diligence to provide endless assistance in times of chaos is truly a testament to the caliber of person he was. 

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Global Spheres Center, 7801 S. I 35 E., Corinth with Dr. Charles D. Pierce and Dr. Robert Heidler officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the International Travel Fund at Glory of Zion, International with a designation for the Don Tate Memorial Fund.

Don is survived by his wife, Anne; daughter, Kai Len Lee; and son, Jonathan E. Tate. He is preceded in death by his parents.
