Gracie Valley Reed, 91, of Sanger, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Gainesville, Texas. She was born on November 7, 1921 in Denton County to Benjamin Avery and Adella (Morgan) Jones.
On September 27, 1941, she married H. F. Reed and they lived in Sanger where they raised their family. He preceded her in death in 2002.Gracie was a member of the Bolivar Baptist Church and worked as a Nannie.
She is survived by her three sons, Larry Reed of Valley View, Danny Reed of Slidell and Steve Reed of Era; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Lana Rebecca “Becky” Tidwell and granddaughter, Gaila Reed.
A visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8pm on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Coker Funeral Home in Sanger. A graveside service will be held at the Sanger Cemetery Pavilion on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 11:00 am with Dickie Amyx officiating.
