Fred Huddleston, age 86, of Lewisville, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, in Coppell.
He was born October 9, 1926 in Fort Worth, Texas to Fred C. Huddleston, Jr. and Margaret Dickson Huddleston. Fred served in the United States Navy during the last years of World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Texas with honors in 1950 and SMU in 1958 with Bachelor degrees in business administration. Fred married Doris Travelstead on January 26, 1952 in Lewisville and they are longtime members of First Baptist Church of Lewisville. He worked as a CPA and Government Contract Auditor.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; son, Michael Wallace Huddleston and wife, Teresa; grandsons, Michael Frederick Huddleston and Samuel Wallace Huddleston; brother, William Thomas “Butch” Huddleston and his wife, Gloria; niece, Tracy Barnes and husband, Roger and nephews, Brandon and Bryson Barnes. Fred was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Dupree.
A service to celebrate Fred’s life will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
