Ruth J. Steger, 94 of Denton, Texas passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Atrium Medical Center.Ruth was the daughter of Minnie (Worthy) and Joseph Scott Dameron. She was born at Durant, Oklahoma on February 22, 1918.Ruth was co-owner with her husband, James Pullen of Pullen Dry Goods in Decatur, Texas for twenty years.James preceded her in death.She later married Wesley Steger.Wesley preceded her in death in 2003.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey.A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Joan Speer of Colleyville, and Barbara Young of Denton; three grandsons, Mike Speer, Trent Young, and Bill Sampler; nine grandchildren;one great-great grandchild; one sister, Mary Jo Henry of Denison, Texas. Ruth’s daughter, Linda Sampler preceded her in death.
Services are under the direction of Terri Slay and the staff of Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
