Judy Ann Stewart, 75, of Denton, TX, after a long illness, passed away February 16, 2013.She was the daughter of the late Bob and Margaret Melton of Groesbeck, TX.

Judy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joe G. Stewart, and their children Stacy and Joe, Jr.

She graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1956 and completed her degree at the University of North Texas in Denton in 1984.She was a member of several civic and social organizations including the DAR chapter in Denton and the Ariel Club of Denton. She was also a life member of the UNT Exes Association and of the UNT President’s Council. Her major interests included reading, theater, dancing, music, sports, shopping and cruising.

Judy enjoyed a long professional career at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico and served for 24 years at both UNT and TWU.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to everyone at the Baylor Cancer Center in Dallas.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dr. Joe and Judy Stewart Scholarship Fund at the UNT Foundation (1155 Union Circle #311250, Denton, Texas 76203-5017).

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held in Denton at the UNT Gateway Center Ballroom (801 North Texas Blvd) on Friday, March 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Valet parking will be available at Gateway.

A celebration of Judy’s life will also be held in Groesbeck, Texas, at the First Methodist Church (203 West State Street) on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.
