Markoleta Triplett, 99, of Pilot Point passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born Sept. 1, 1913 in Pilot Point, Texas to Claude & Ava Rice Beck. She attended Pilot Point schools & was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. On Sept. 19, 1932, she married James Earl Triplett in Marietta, OK. After 50 years of marriage, he passed away Sept. 27, 1982.

Markoleta retired from Singer Sewing Co. in Denton in 1970, after many years of service. She was a volunteer for the Shepherd’s Storehouse in Pilot Point & a member of the Belew Club.

She loved quilting, sewing, crafts, oil painting & collecting stamps. She was also a wonderful cook. Her delicious Cornbread Dressing was a family favorite which she had prepared since she was 12 years old. Markoleta loved people & provided food & comfort to them in their time of need. She also loved to travel & loved estate & garage sales. She always said “You never know, you might find a “GOLD GUINEA”.

Markoleta loved life & always looked forward to each day with new dreams & new goals. She loved to sit outside in the DR&NC courtyard watching the birds eating the bread crumbs, enjoying the flowers in bloom, soaking up the Vitamin D sunshine & enjoying all of God’s nature.

She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law Earlane & Travis Wilson of Pilot Point, a son & daughter-In-law Wayne & Louise Triplett also of Pilot Point; 4 grandchildren Sherry Davis & husband Troy of Celina, TX, Daphne Anderson &

husband Bill of Pilot Point, Garry Wilson & wife Pam of Pilot Point & Darren Triplett & wife Dana also of Pilot Point; 9 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Seth, & Lindy Davis, Katy, Lacy & Cade Anderson, and Brooke, Jarrett & Jacie Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters, Farene Green & Fannie Mae Triplett, granddaughter Tamara Triplett & great-grandson Colton Davis.

Visitation will be at 10AM Sat. March 9, 2013 at Slay Memorial Funeral Home of Pilot Point, at 424 South Washington Street, Pilot Point, TX with the funeral service following at 11AM. Burial will be at Belew Cemetery.

A special thank you to the staff at DR&NC, Bluebonnet Hospice, & Odyssey Hospice for all of your wonderful care. Your kindness & caring has truly been a blessing!

Funeral services are under the direction of Terri Slay and the staff of Slay Memorial Funeral Center, Pilot Point.
