Vicki Rae Irving, 64, a longtime resident of Denton, died Monday, March 18, 2013 at her home in Savannah, TX.

Mrs. Irving was born on May 1, 1948 in Morrill, NE to Wayne Matthew and Betty Jean (Howe) Hawkinson. She was married to Shannon Irving on March 22, 1969 in Gering, NE. She graduated from x-ray school at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, CO. She was a member of the ASRT and worked as a Radiologic Technologist for many years. She was a member of Denton Bible Church.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Shannon Irving of Savannah, TX; son, Kevin Irving and his wife Michelle of Montgomery, TX; mother, Betty Jean Smith of Scottsbluff, NE; brother, Gary Hawkinson of Casper, WY; three grandchildren, Samuel Kent Irving, Jacob Wayne Irving, Hannah Grace Irving, all of Montgomery, TX; mother-in-law, Geraldine J. Irving of Colorado Springs, CO; nephew, Benjamin Owen of Texas; niece, Caitlin Lieder and her husband Artur, of England as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Kent Shannon Irving and her father, Wayne Hawkinson. Mrs. Irving devoted her life to Jesus and her love for the Lord was shown in all she did. She was a friend, mentor and inspiration to many, using her love of butterflies as a way to minister to others.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, March 22, 2013 in the Denton Bible Church Chapel, 2300 E. University Dr., Denton, TX. Rev Tom Nelson will officiate the service.

A memorial service will be held at Westway Christian Church, 1701 W. 27th Street, Scottsbluff, NE on Friday March 29th at 2:00 PM. Willie Coop will officiate the service.

Contributions may be made in memory of Vicki Irving to Denton Bible Church.
