Charles Steven "Steve" Cole, son of Harry and Wanda Cole, was born July 29, 1947 and departed this life in Shamrock, Texas, March 16, 2013 at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 16 days.

He was united in marriage to Faith Adele Brown July 14, 1967. To this former union three daughters were born.

He leaves to mourn his departure three daughters, Mrs. Kelli (Mike) Ladwig and Mrs. Karen (Mike) Sood of McKinney, Texas and Mrs. Leah (Jimmy) Dixon of Bedford, Texas.

He also leaves four grandchildren, Madden and Samantha Ladwig and Mika and Karisma Sood of McKinney, Texas and two brothers, Boyd (Donna) Cole, Brad (Ann) Cole and two sisters, Mrs. Sandy (Steve) Crane and Mrs. Middy (Steve) Green all of Springfield, Missouri, five nephews and six great nephews and nieces, two aunts, Harriet Clay and Ann Cole, also many relatives and friends.

Dr. Cole was born at Poplar Bluff and raised in Leeper, MO.

Steve graduated Strafford High School, Strafford, Missouri, 1964. He earned his bachelors and masters from Missouri State and his Ph.d from the University of Arkansas. Steve earned many academic and professional accolades during his tenure at the University of North Texas on the Finance, Insurance, Real Estate, and Law faculty.

On March 16, 2013 while the sun was sinking low, Steve rode the "Old Mother Road", Route 66, into the arms of his heavenly father.

Funeral services were held in Springfield, Missouri at Greenlawn East Funeral Home Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. and he was laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the UNT College of Business General Scholarship Fund.

A memorial will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 in the Business Leadership Building Atrium at the University of North Texas from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
