Winifred Currie Boots, 84, of Denton, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013.

She was born October 11, 1928, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to Harold and Ruth Currie. She married Donald A. Boots on May 28, 1946, in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 18, at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Denton Bible Church; the family will also receive visitors in the foyer from 10:15 to 10:45 am. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Winnie graduated from Shenango High School in New Castle. She received a Licensed Vocational Nursing degree from Texas Woman's University and worked as Admitting Nurse at Denton's Westgate Hospital. She was a Trustee Emeritus of the Board of Directors of the Studebaker Family National Association. Winnie and Don were active in many church activities, and Winnie faithfully supported her husband in his lay ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard, Norman and Billie Currie; and sisters, Betty Deemer and June Servick.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Dennis Boots and wife Marilyn of Denton and Dick Boots and wife JoAnn of Paris, Texas; grandchildren, David Boots and wife Andrea of Denton, Mark Boots and wife Dianne of Paris, Kathryn Porter and husband Pete of Denton, and Andy Boots and wife Michelle of Jonesboro, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Abbie, Maddie and Ellie Boots of Denton and Andrew Boots of Jonesboro; two sisters, Gerry Garing and Louise Burr of Pennsylvania.

Serving as pallbearers will be: David Boots, Mark Boots, Andy Boots, Pete Porter, Lloyd Campbell and Jim Boots.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers of The Silver Stone Home and Ardent Hospice for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons International.
