Robert N. McAdams, Jr., call sign KA5PPX, age 57, died Tuesday morning, April 16, 2013 at his home in Valley View, TX after a brief but valiant battle with brain cancer.

Robert was born March 3, 1956 in Nashville, TN to parents Robert and Constance (Wilson) McAdams. He was married for 24 years to the love of his life, Carolyn and was the most beloved father to Daniel. Robert was a 1974 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Nashville, and attended both the University of Tennessee and Memphis State University. In the early 1980's Robert relocated to Dallas, TX where he began a long career as an IT professional. It was during this time that he was able to travel extensively throughout the world. More recently he became an entrepreneur with a small startup company, GO GEEKS, GO, specializing in onsite computer repair. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Relay League, a lifelong hobby that gave him far reaching contact with people all around the globe. While technology was his calling, his real joy was found in spending time with family and friends, especially watching the Dallas Cowboys with his son Daniel and playing Texas Hold 'em poker with his buddies. Robert will be remembered most for his bigger than life personality and his generosity of spirit which he shared with all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his father, Robert N. McAdams, Sr., and sister, Anne Farron McAdams. Survived by his wife, Rebecca Carolyn McAdams, son, Daniel Zacharias McAdams, mother and stepfather, Dr. Constance McAdams and Dr. Alfy Tadros, (Hamilton, Ontario) and sister, Constance P. McAdams,Nashville, TN.

Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11am. St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gainesville, TX. Fr. Victor Cruz HGN, officiating. Friends and family will be received after 3pm at the home of Robert, Carolyn and Daniel McAdams in Valley View.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Valley View Volunteer Fire Dept. and Cooke County Home Hospice.
