Jacqueline Ann Houlihan, of Aubrey, TX, fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on May 6, 2013 at the age of 83.

Jacqueline was born June 29, 1929 in St. Louis, MO. A member of St. James The Greater Parish, she was awarded an academic scholarship to St. Elizabeth's Academy after ranking 1st among 130 girls. In 1950, she married Robert James Houlihan, also a member of her parish, and moved to Dallas.

Jacqueline's life revolved around her husband who was the love of her life, her family and home. Married for 62 years, she raised six children, often single handedly in the early years of her marriage as her husband's career involved extensive travel. Devout Catholics and founding members of St. Monica Parish in Dallas, the young couple established life-long friendships as their children grew up attending St. Monica Grade School and later Ursuline Academy and Jesuit College Preparatory School. During those years, her house was always filled with the excitement that comes with raising a large family. Jacqueline and Robert moved to Aubrey, TX, in 1984, joining St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Pilot Point, TX.

Jacqueline loved the arts - especially literature, music, history and interior design. She was a voracious reader, who enjoyed reading the daily newspaper from front to back every morning. She instilled her passion for reading into all of her children with weekly trips to the local library. She was a gifted writer who loved nature, travel and her beloved animals.

Jacqueline is survived by her loving husband, Robert James Houlihan, son Robert Houlihan and his wife Barbara, daughter Deborah O'Connell and her husband Gerard, daughter Margaret Houlihan, daughter Karen Anton and her husband Philip, son Patrick Houlihan and his wife Patricia, son Michael Houlihan and his wife Marjorie, sisters Kathleen Murphy and Maureen McVey Bean, brother James McVey and his wife Catherine; grandchildren Laura Boring and her husband David, Lisa Weber, Robert Hatley, Shea Houlihan, Zachary Terry and his wife Hailey, Kate Anton, Meghan Anton, Michael Hatley, Myria Houlihan-Boehm and her husband John, Daniel Hatley, Matthew Anton, Cara Houlihan, Michael Henry Houlihan, Kevin Houlihan; great-grandchildren Joshua, Emily and Abigail Boring, Reese and Olivia Terry and many much-loved nieces and nephews.
