James Pleasant McCormack, 85, of Denton, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at his home in Denton.
Mr. McCormack was born on March 24, 1928 in Dallas to George and Thelma (Dobbins) McCormack. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a member of the Baptist Church. He was married to Dorles (Manry) Anderson on April 29, 1967 in Muenster, TX. He was a member of the VFW and I.O.O.F. organizations. He retired from Westgate Hospital as a Master Plumber and had worked for the Denton State School for many years.
James is survived by his wife, Dorles McCormack of Denton; daughter, Patsy Sallee and her husband Eddie of Krugerville; son, Timothy P. McCormack and his wife Wanda of Denton; stepdaughters, Edena Irwin and her husband Joe Bill of Ponder, Mary Denice Matlock and her husband Michael of Denton; stepson, Bill Anderson and his wife Daphne of Pilot Point; sisters, Leona Dee Vernon of Adamsville, AL, Margaret Ann Ball of Levelland, TX; brothers, Craig Harris of Dallas, Thomas McCormack of Wetumpka, AL; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; two step-great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael R. McCormack and James B. "Nip" McCormack.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:00 Friday, May 24, 2013 at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Roselawn Memorial Park. Rev. Buddy Owens will officiate the service.
