Billy John Powers, 40, of Gainesville (formerly of Denton), passed away on June 8, 2013 in Hickory Creek, Texas. He was born on April 3, 1973 in Denton, Texas to Victoria Jo (Mason) Redmon and Danny Lee Powers.

Billy was a 1991 graduate of Lewisville High School and received his Associates Degree in Equine Science from North Central Texas College in 1993. He was a member of Ponies of America (POA). He worked as a patient advocate for Prescription Assist Services where he served as the laisson between the doctor, the patient, and the pharmaceutical company to assist those who did not have the monetary means to pay for their prescriptions.

He is survived by his daughter, Victoria Alexandria Powers of Sherman; his mother and step-father, Vickie and Allen Redmon of Gainesville; his father and step-mother, Danny and Melissa Powers of Alvarado; two step-sisters, Michelle Sicking of Muenster and Ashley Nelson of Mansfield; two step-brothers, Stephen Redmon of Corinth and Dustin Nelson of Venus; and his grandparents, Johnny and Betty Mason of Gainesville; Billy Eugene Powers of Kemp, Evelyn Katherine McDaniel of Lewisville, and Marion Redmon of Gainesville.

Funeral services have been set for 11:00 am on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Sanger. Interment will be at 2:00 pm in the New Hope Cemetery in Cooke County, Texas.
