Margie Ruth Grunwald Corpany, 89, dedicated wife, loving mother and doting grandmother, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013.

Her funeral service will be Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1000 Tinker Road, Colleyville. Msgr. Joseph Schumacher will be the celebrant. Interment will be at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m.

Margie was born November 11, 1923 in Fort Worth, daughter of the late Uvie Starks Grunwald and John A. Grunwald. She graduated from Polytechnic Heights High School in 1941 and married Dan B. Corpany on April 30, 1944. Upon returning home from WWII, Dan and Margie settled in Polytechnic Heights of Fort Worth. They were active members in College Heights and Eastwood Methodist Church. Later they became members of Lakeview Baptist Church. In 1968, Dan and Margie purchased and moved their family into Dan's childhod home at 4601 Normandy Drive in the Meadowbrook area of East Fort Worth. Dan's great grandfather, George Chorpenning (Corpany) built the house in the late 1890's and was one of the original settlers and families of the Meadowbrook area.

In life, Margie enjoyed singing in the church choir, attending family and church singings with Dan. She loved cooking for her family, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her constant whistling was a joyous sound that lifted your heart when heard. She loved watching Rachael Ray and other cooking shows. Margie worked 25 years at All Saints Episcopal Hospital as the Surgical Recovery Unit secretary until her retirement in 1986. After Dan's death, Margie eventually moved to Denton, where she lived out her remaining years living independently at Pecan Place Apartments just off the Denton Square. Mom met John (Grandpa John) Campbell at Pecan Place. They married May 26, 2001. Grandpa John died January 20, 2008.

Margie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Dan Corpany; her son, Anthony Steven Corpany; and her siblings, Jack and James Grunwald, Francis Grunwald and Lorraine VanVorst.

Margie is survived by sons, Dan Michael Corpany and wife, Debbie, John Wesley Corpany and wife, Cheryl, Robert Alan Corpany Scigliano; daughter, Margie Maria Gregory and husband, Doug; she treasured her seven grandchildren, Ashley, Brian, Leigh Anne, Jenni, Christina, AnnElise and Elliot and proudly proclaimed her love for her two great grandsons, Kieran and Kaden Singh and anticipated the arrival of another great grandchild; also survived by her little brother, Ronald Lynn Grunwald; and many nephews and nieces.
