Charles Wesley Dorau, 88 of Denton, Texas went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2013. Charles was born on June 1, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He worked in Quality Control at several companies for over 35 years. He was a choir director, Bible teacher and also served overseas as a missionary in Romania and Germany. Charles was best known for his quick wit, warm personality and wise counsel. He was a caring husband, loving father and a man of God.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Betty; son, Charles S and daughter in law Pamela of Spring, Texas; daughter and son in law, Marie and Gary Kendrick of Delaware, Arkansas; daughter and son in law Susan and Fred McLaren of Marietta, GA; son James Dorau of Ipswich, MA; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grand children and numerous nieces, nephews and very special friends. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Dorau and granddaughter Marianne Delcambre.

The burial service will be held at 9:00am at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas. The memorial service celebrating Charles life will be at 11:00am at Life Gate Church, Denton, Texas. The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 24, 2013 from 6:00-8:00pm at Dalton and Sons Funeral Home, Lewisville, Texas.
