Lucila Lerma Longoria died peacefully in Marble Falls, Texas, on Sunday, July 21, after a long illness.

Lucila was born in Bishop, Texas, on March 28, 1932, to Mauro and Francisca Lerma. After receiving her B.A. and M.A. degrees from Texas A&I University, she taught at several school districts, including The Dallas Independent School District where she retired as Assistant Superintendent in 1998.

Lucila is survived by her husband, Frank Longoria, daughter, Rebecca Carter, and her husband, Darryl, grandson, Tony Longoria, and his wife Jennifer, great-granddaughter, Olivia Longoria, two step-granddaughters, Lisa and Stephanie Carter, two sisters, Ninfa Arce and Nilda García, brother, Col. Carlos Lerma, and his wife, Sandra, and many nephews and nieces.

Memorial services will be held at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 102 Lorenz Rd, San Antonio, Texas, on Friday, August 2, 2013, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice.
