Betty Gayle White was born in Dallas, Texas on November 7, 1955. She parted this world to enter the Heavens way too early on August 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her Father Robert White Cawthon of Lewisville, TX, her baby sister Allie Carol Petty of Sanger, TX and her longtime faithful dog "Black Jack." Betty is survived by her Mother Bobbie Janice Eddy of Sanger, TX her two children in which her World evolved Bobby White of Austin, TX and Marsha Hardaway of Terrell, TX, two grandchildren Nathan Hardaway of Terrell, TX and Hollie Hardaway of Denton, TX as well as her two adopted grandchildren Tyler and Samantha Eddy and a great grandson Carter Hardaway. In addition, Betty leaves behind her four brothers Jimmy Vaughn of Corinth, TX James Vaughn, Leonard Cawthon and Frank Eddy all of Little Elm, TX as well as three sisters, Juanita Bisson of Corinth, TX, Shirley Gothard of Denton, TX and Catherine Boudreaux of Sanger, TX. Betty was loved by and loved all of her extended family - aunts, uncles, cousins and her many, many nieces and nephews as well as her adopted pets "Levi" her obedient black lab who she rescued recently from the Humane Society of Dallas County, her grand-piggy "Miss Piggy" and of course her grand-dog "Weezy."
Betty was a homemaker for most of her life taking care of her two children, ensuring against the odds that they were provided for. In later life, she worked various jobs in different fields where she made friends with everyone she came in contact with. Betty will always be a reminder to her family and those who knew her that while the mountains may be high, the roads especially long, and the river ever so treacherous that we have to "keep on keeping on".
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Coker Funeral Home, 403 Pecan Street, Sanger, Texas. Graveside services will be held at the Sanger Cemetery Pavilion in Sanger, Texas on Saturday, August 24th at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Dallas County, a no-kill animal shelter.
