Pam passed away on August 28, 2013 in Denton, Texas. Pam was born on August 6, 1959 to Jim and Betty Jordan. Pam grew up in Big Spring, Texas and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1977. It was then that Pam attended Howard College and earned an Associate's degree as an Emergency Medical Technician. In 1981, Pam started working for the Big Spring Police Department and that's when Pam attended and graduated from the Permian Basin Police Academy. Throughout her 20 year career as a police officer, she received numerous certifications, awards and recognitions, and promotions, often times making history. Included in that long list, one year, she received city employee of the year and the Police Star. One accomplishment that she would say she is probably most proud of is - she was the first female assistant police chief in Big Spring, Texas, making her the highest ranking female law enforcement officer in Howard county history in 1997. She ended the career that she loved and retired from the Big Spring Police Department in 2001. That same year, in 2001, Pam started a new career, and obtained another Associates degree in Information Technology from Howard College. It's that new career that moved her to Denton, Texas, in 2002. It is in Denton that she started working for the city of Southlake in the Information Technology Department up until the time of her death. Again with her new career, she shined and earned the City of South Lake employee of the year award in 2005.
In 1995, she met Suzanne Reed while working at the Big Spring Police Department. They later made their relationship official. Pam and Suzanne are life partners of over 18 years. Pam has many interests and hobbies like fishing and camping. She loved to make things; crafting was a specialty of hers. She loved to ride her motorcycle. She really loved to watch movies and loved to read. Pam was most passionate about Suzanne, her family, and her pets.
Pam is survived by her spouse, Suzanne Reed, their dogs Alex, Codi, and Stormi; mother and stepfather, Betty and Robert Muller of Big Spring, Texas; stepmother, Gloria Jordan of Midland, Texas; sister, Pat Hoppman of Midland, Texas; brother, James and wife, Ruth Jordan of Midland, Texas; brother, Heath Muller of Midland, Texas; sisters in law, Ami Byrd and Becky Overby of Denton, Texas; brother, Mark and wife, Linda Dinsmore of Midland, Texas; sister, Tammy and husband, Rex Reid of Liberty Hill, Texas; nieces, Amanda Mitchell and husband Sean, Darbie Cox, Haley Dinsmore, Rachel Africh, and husband Maurice, Alyssa Byrd, Sara Overby, and Hannah Overby and; nephews Paul Jordan, Ryan Reid, Mitchell Dinsmore, Matt Hoppman and wife, Amy, Alex Byrd, and Jonathan Byrd; great nieces and nephews, Garrett, Lynsey, Whitney, Riley, Jillian, and Emerson; aunt, Kay Blanton of N. Littlerock, Arkansas, and cousins. Pam is preceded in death by her father, Jim Jordan; mother-in-law, Donna Reed, brother, Brett Dinsmore; uncle, Tommy Hogan, and both grandparents Ila Hogan and Bill Hogan.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Midland, Texas where her family still resides. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations are made to the ASPCA.
