Karen "Kay" Fritschen passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Autumn Leaves of Denton, Texas. Kay was born on November 20, 1942 to William (Boss) and Effie Johnson in Crowell, Texas and lived her early years as a true Texas farm girl in nearby Foard City, Texas. She was united in marriage to Donald Fritschen on April 13, 1984.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 at Dalton and Son Funeral Home, 1550 North Stemmons Freeway, Lewisville, Texas 75067. A funeral service celebrating Kay's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 1897 West Main Street, Lewisville, Texas 75067. Burial will follow the Mass at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters, Kaila Sellers and Terry Sellers of Greenville, Texas; step-daughters Dawn Reeder and husband Dewayne Reeder of Shady Shores, Texas, and Kimberly Fritschen of Bedford, Texas; five grandchildren Kristal Glasgow, Taylor Glasgow, Graham Reeder and wife Gena, Wesley Reeder, and Corrie Reeder; two great-grandchildren Kaileigh Swanson and Kenzleigh Wall; her brother Dale Johnson and wife Barbara of Perryton, Texas; predeceased by her sister-in-law Linda Johnson, brother Bill Johnson, and mother Effie Conant, father William Johnson.

Kay was a warm, compassionate, outgoing wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to cook and sew beautiful outfits for her children and grandchildren. By those who were fortunate enough to know her, she is already missed.
