Lindy L. Spinks, 86, of Sanger was born on July 3, 1927 in Mullen, Texas to Joe and Maude (Davis) Spinks. On October 2, 2103, he passed way in Denton, Texas. On June 6, 1953, he married Barbara Faye Cole in Bolivar, Texas. Lindy served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by the Rock Island Railroad as a clerk until his retirement after 35 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters - Inez Hammond, Mildred Anderson, Josie Ray, Lois Harmon, and Alva Turner; five brothers - Marvin, Ivan, Carl, Howard, and L. D. Spinks. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Barbara of Sanger; daughter, Cindi Edgar of Sanger; a son, John Spinks of Sanger; one sister, Adeline Everett of Conroe; and one grandson, Jason Wickersham.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Bolivar Cemetery (four miles west of Sanger on FM455 West) with Dr. Greg Johnson officiating. Coker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and you may make online condolences at www.cokerfuneralhome.com .
