J.R. Alexander (1927-2013)

In loving memory of James Robert Alexander (J.R.) who passed away on September 30th after a short struggle with cancer. J.R. was born in Corinth, Mississippi on March 4, 1927. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served proudly during World War II on the USS Essex aircraft carrier.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Betty Jo Coleman, his granddaughter Anami Hanel, his sister Betsy Alexander Hardin, his brothers Johnny L. Alexander, and Irl Thomas Alexander, and his parents Irl Robert Alexander and Edna Clifford Alexander.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years Francis Hill Starkey Alexander. He is also survived by his son Jimmy Alexander (wife Pamela), daughter Prissy Yates (husband Cy), and daughter Beverly Alexander (husband Skip) as well as his stepchildren Tommy Starkey (wife Roxanne), Bonnie Laird (husband Mark) and Sara Finnet (husband David).

He is survived by 18 Grandchildren Jason Alexander (wife Amy), Nathan Alexander (wife Emily), Samantha McKinney (husband Kevin), Jennifer Wright (husband Adrien), Jeremy Jones (wife Jamie Lynn), Cyril Jones (wife Jacqueline), Scott Jones, Kathleen Shinn, Michelle Cauduro (husband Paul), Atman Hanel (wife Katie), Alexander Hanel, Zoe Hays, Natalie Hankins (husband Steve), Jason and Jacob Starkey, Christina Langston, David Laird (wife Nicki) and Lacy Laird.

He is survived by 19 Great Grandchildren, Justin, Megan, and Ashlyn Alexander, Avi McKinney, Lily Alexander, Meah and Colt Jones, Cutler and Crew Jones, Jonathan and Hannah Turner, Garrett and Laney Shinn, Evan and Aubry Cauduro, Sampson and Porter Hanel, Bo and Becca Hankins.

Services will be held at Northview Baptist Church, 2021 N. Mill St, Lewisville, Texas at 11 am on Friday October 4, 2013.
