Betty Canty Bressler

Heaven just became a lot more fun since Betty Canty Bressler arrived. Her winning sense of humor along with the dry wit allowed her to connect with people on every level. A circus performer, an award winning author, a tall stately blond, Betty was all of these, if only in her dreams. And dream she did through her insatiable appetite for reading. She was a terrific wife, mother and friend. It has been said that a person who has friends is considered to be wealthy. Assuming that is true, then Betty Canty has to be one of the wealthiest women on earth. She will be missed by all. Especially her beloved husband of 5 years, Charlie Bressler of Sanger, daughter Janey Garrison of Farmers Branch and family, daughter Mary K McMahan of Atlanta and family, son Pat Canty of Dallas, cousins Juney Reeb of Plano, Nancy Hackney of LaRue and daughter-in-law Vickie Canty of Tulsa. Eight grand children and five great grand children. Also, her extended Bressler family, who loved her dearly.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Nan Stricklin, husband Joe Canty, infant daughter Elizabeth, son David. All of whom were waiting with open arms to welcome her thru the pearly gates.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2013 at Calvary Hill Cemetery, where Betty will be laid to rest next to her of husband of 52 years, Joe and other family members. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice or to Presbyterian Village North where Betty and Joe were residents for 14 years.
